I am looking for James L. Duvall listed in 1830 living next to Archibald Duvall, supposedly his uncle in the Surry County, NC census. James L. Duvall was born in 1805 in Virginia, married Matilda Russell on Oct 6, 1825 in Patrick Co. Virginia and then moved to Surry Co, NC. in 1840 the family has moved to Franklin TN, and then in 1850 they are in Fayette County TN. Can any of you tell me what the 1830 census record for James L and Matilda looks like--do they have any children at this point, does it list any older persons living with them, and how close are they to Archibald Duvall and what names are listed in Archibald's family, and what state do they list as their place of birth? I am sorry to ask so many questions. Thank you for any help.

The problem is that I can find no other person in history (LDS/Ancestry.com/Cyndi's list/etc) with the last name of DEFRAISE. There was a Nancy DEFREES born about 1787 in North Carolina (LDS records) and if this is the same person, she would have been about 23 when she married my ancestor, Ephraim FRADY. If any of you have access to the original record listed above, could you check to see if there was a mistake made in transcribing Nancy's last name? Thank you.
