So your thinking of adding a new member to your family, Welcome to the home of Shana Standard Schnauzers.

Let us start by introducing ourselves. We are LeAnn and Louie Shank. We have been loving this breed for some time now. Our first standard came to our home in 1987 and we have been hooked ever since. Am. Can. Champion Centara DeLanie is her name, Lanie for short.

Besides being a wonderful family companion, we choose to go beyond and excel in showing in the conformation ring, obedience ring. Most of our dogs are also Registered Therapy dogs that work with the elderly and sick.

Our breeding program is simple. We breed for good sound temperament and health above all else.

Let me tell you a little about this breed. First of all these are creatures with extreme intelligence. They are willing to please you or talk you into doing everything for there benefit. One minute you can find they clowning around the house and the next in the obedience ring concentrating on the next command for you. They are very active and love the challenge of something new. They will laugh with you and comfort you. Although breeding is a big part of temperament, they will be anything you teach them to be! They are amazing!

We have listed some things that we find important in our breeding program.

• Our breeding dogs are always finished Champions and over 2 years of age before breeding.

• Our dogs all have Penn hip or OFA certification.

• Our dogs eyes are C.E.R.F. certified.

• Our puppies are given a clean bill of health from our vets.

• Our puppies have their tails docked and dew claws removed.

• Ears cropped and healed.

• Shots, wormed.

• Socialized.

• Crate trained.

• Companion puppies sold only on a spay/neuter agreement.

• Grooming and Feeding instructions.

• We give references.

• We ask that you keep in touch with us and let us help you with any questions or help that you may need. We encourage you to continue with the crate training, starting obedience classes. We prefer that you have a fenced yard. We want this to be a friend for life!
