by Bud Phillips. Does anyone know where I could find these books and how

ALLEN
I am searching for the parents of James Frank ALLEN who was born
around Harrison in 1870. The father's name could have been William or
Thomas ALLEN. The mother's name was Nancy (possibly BARRETT). Legend
has it that Nancy ran her husband off when the children were young.
Other children were: John, Henry, Dan, China (female), and Robert. I
could not find them in the AR 1880 soundex or 1870 Carroll, Madison, &
Boone counties. Legend also says that Nancy remarried but Henry and
Dan did not like their step-father so they killed him. When the trial
was upcoming they set fire to the log court house then fled to CA.
Who knows about how much truth there is to this. I have been looking
for this line for 20 years, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

FINLEY
Uziah "Uzza" Finley was b. abt 1760 and died about 1844 probably in Izard
Co. AR in the vicinity of Melbourne. Issues: Nancy m. Parks Middleton,
William m. Elizabeth Law?, Zachariah, Charles, and Norris. Uzza came to
Arkansas about 1818 from Georgia with his brother Eleven Finley. It is
believed that his dau. Nancy remained in GA but his sons came to AR with
him and in 1850 and 1860 descendants from his sons appear in Izard County
living among the family of Isaac Finley. The movements of these family
members are uncertain and have not been documented. Finley's with naming
patterns who could descend from Uzza appear in Marion, Boone, Fulton,
Baxter, Izard, Independence Counties in AR and in Fannin, Cooke, Hunt and
northern counties in TX. There are indications of migration to CA in 1860.
I would be interested in receiving queries from descendants and interested

I'm am searching for information
on William Brice Hughey b.October 29, 1832 in TN and d. December 26,
1902 in AR. He married Amanda Jane DeShields between 1855-1856 in AR.
They had a son named James Langston Hughey b. August 08, 1869 in Boone
County, AR. He married Milissa Hannah Richardson July 12, 1891 in
Boone County, AR. James Langston was also known as Lank. Another son
that I know of was Columbus Henry Hughey. William Hughey is buried at
Milum Cemetary in Lead Hill, AR. Also, from the information that I
have, he served in the Civil War between 1861 and 1863 from Boone
County, AR. He fought at Pea Ridge. I believe William's mother's
name was Ann. Don't know her maiden name.

Looking for any information regarding John Morris Hursh and his family
in Boone Co. Arkansas the city of Harrison. John Morris was a woodworker
and was married to Mahala Brisco who died in childbirth in 1895 and is
buried outside the Cozahome Cemetery gates with her stillborn twins (don't
know why ). His sceond wife was Nancy Louise McNabb Jackson. They had
several children and moved to Union Oregon. John later retuned to
Harrison and died and is buried in the Cozahome cemetery with his brother
Harrison Hursh.

Arkansas from approximately 1855 to pre 1870 in the Boone and/or
Carrol Counties area. The names in particular that I am looking
for information on are:
Wesley Middleton b. SC ap. 1817 marr. Mary (Polly) Easter in TN
John J. Middleton b. TN ap. 1837 marr. Sarah A. Langlan (or Goss)
They were in TN in 1850 and in Taney Co. MO in 1870. The 1870
Taney Co. MO census shows that Wesley's later born children were
born in Ark. I have some information that indicates they were
in the Boone and/or Carrol Co. Ark. area. Any information would

John W. and Caroline Honeycutte MORRIS and their family lived in Boone
County, Harrison Arkansas sometime before 1910. Two of the boys, Dan
H and Thomas W. MORRIS married sisters Hettie and Bettie POTTS and two
of the girls Dora and Dovie MORRIS married brothers Edward and Will
COVINGTON. They can be tracked to Oklahoma from Missouri. I would
like to find John's parents or brothers or sisters. John W. MORRIS
was born July 6, 1847 somewhere in Mo. His first wife was named Martha
Embry, they were married October 4, 1866 in Webster Co. Mo. After
Martha's death he married Caroline Honeycutte. abt 1876. There were at
least 16 children in the family. Any information or persons

Almarine "Allie" PETTY (b. 22 Dec 1866 near Bellefonte, Boone Co.,
Ark; died ? September 1942 in Briscoe Co., Tex). She was one of four
children. She married Leondrus "Lon" Lee ROGERS (m.12 Aug 1888) of
Harrison, Ark, moved to Texas, and had 2 children, John Truman and
Erdie. Her father was Elijah PETTY (b. 30 May 1832 in ?; d. 6 Dec
1916 in ?) who was from Bellfonte, Boone Co., Ark, and was a
confederate veteran. I do not have any further information about him,
or know anything about his wife. Any further information about this
lineage would be appreciated.
