The WishnWhiskers breeding philosophy is not simple:
- Endeavor to breed good representatives of the breed.
- Encourage the growth of the Turkish Van from a minority
breed into a recognized and easily recognizable breed.
- Want my cats to have full lives and do not breed them
more than once a year.
- Recognize that the gene pool is small and needs constant
enrichment, so outcross as much as possible to keep the hybrid vigor strong.

Kittens
- Produce a limited number of kittens each year
- Place them in homes that will promote the breed as well
as give them a full and satisfying feline life.
- Realizing that indoor cats live on average a decade longer
than outdoor felines, preference is given to homes that will only allow
them outside on a very limited basis or will give them access to an outdoor
enclosed run.
- Want our buyers to be aware of the animal husbandry required
of a good cat owner and expect them to keep the cat well-fed, in good
medical condition and in a circumstance of limited stress.
- Desire all of the cats placed have full feline lives,
in short.
