RECORD OF SERVICE: Enlisted 21 Jun 1861 in the Dixie Artillery. Transferred to Cayce's Purcell (Richmond) Artillery 04 Oct 1862. Transferred to Co. C, 39th Bttn. Va. Cav. 09 Jan 1863 at Luray. Surrendered 09 Apr 1865, Appomattox C.H., Va. with horse and equipment.
OBITUARY: "ISAAC M. HITE age 62 yrs s/o Daniel Hite (decd.) died 22 Sep 1898 at New Lebanon, Cooper, MO. He married a d/o Henry Gander. Four children; Brothers & sisters - D.S. William (decd.), John P. (decd.), David C. (decd.) He was the only one of four brothers who lived through the Civil War. He moved to Missouri in 1883. Died from heart disease. Born in Page Co., Va."
