RESIDENCES: 1850/1860 in Luray,
District #4.
RECORD OF SERVICE: Enlisted as a private 05 Apr 1862 in Company H ("Page Grays"), 33rd Virginia Infantry. Absent sick May-Aug 1862. Wounded-in-action 03 May 1863 in elbow, age 19. He never recovered from the wound and was forced to retire to the Invalid Corps 25 Nov 1864. OBITUARY extracts: Benjamin Franklin Beahm age 71 years died Tuesday from a complication of diseases at Thronton's Gap, Page, Va. Wife - Josephine Butler. Father - Jacob Beahm. Children - Mrs. I.E. Stomback, Mamie Brown, Mrs. George Atkins, Charles, Robert, John F. (of Philadelphia) & Jacob Beahm of New York. Occupation - Tollgate keeper. Interment in family graveyard. (issue of 13 Nov 1914). |
