Weissenburg's roman heritage |

Around 85 AD, under the reign of the roman Emperor Domitian the castellum Biriciana was built. It was the home of the Ala I Hispanorum Auriana, a cavalry cohors (Regiment) of about 500 cavalrymen. See (1) the castellum, (2)the roman therm (hot bath), (3) the treasure exhibition, (9+10) villas rusticas. it was destroyed by Alemannis in 255 AC |
