Comments: I got turned on to this great page by Robert Albanese. Over the years Bob has become one of my very best friends. In addition over these years he has spent many an hour telling me wonderful stories of life in his home town. I almost want to be able to hail from Tyrell Co., but being a big city guy and a yankee form up north I'm afraid I'll never has what it takes to be from Tyrell Co. I would like to communicate with anyone who might have gone to Columbia Schools between 1949-50 until 1954-55. I had a Ms. Weeks in the first grade. A Mrs. Spence, I think in the second grade. I've shared your latest reports from the "Enquirer" with some of my students. Do you think you could come to my class at some time and share your expertise with them? A noteworthy tidbit for your paper- The CHS varsity girls' basketball team finished co-champions in the TBC conference and have advanced to the final tournament game to be played tonight. Due to their high rank, they have already advanced to State playoffs which will begin next Wednesday here at home. We're so proud of them. Comments: My Grandmother was Margaret Lee Spruill, born 14 Apr 1995 in Creswell, NC. She married William T. Pierce, Born in Nov. 1990. They had six children, Marion, William, Lois, Bertha Mae, Pauline, and Lottie Estelle. The only living child is Lottie Estelle. She lives in Chesterfield, VA outside of Richmond, VA, with her husband John H. Mitchell (he was born in Aulander, NC). The parents of Margaret Lee Spruill were Absalom Spruill and Nancy Davenport Spruill. Absalom Spruill and Nancy Davenport Spruill had the following children: Elzie, Zephie, Charlie, Louis, Ernest, Dewey, Joseph, Eddie, Fanny, Claudia, Annie Margaret Lee, Eleanor, and Maria. Comments: I am so glad for this page. I am starved for information and the general goings on in the Columbia, Creswell area. I graduated from Creswell High 1955.
