I like your site. I found out from Debbie[Abernathy]Boatwright that my great-great-grandmother Susan[Abernathy]Tidwell was a daugther of Isaiah and Mary J.[Fortner]Abernathy. Susan was born 24 Sept 1856 in Cherokee Co.,Ga. and died 09 April 1907 in Bartow Co.,Ga. She married John Tidwell in 1874. They are buried at Old Macedonia Cemetery in Bartow Co.,Ga. Their son Franklin Isaiah was my great-grandfather. There was also another son. His name was Zephaniah Nathan Abernathy. I was told that he was older tha Susan. Donna, you've done a wonderful job thus far on your family tree. We recently bought our computer and I've been anxious to have the opportunity to surf the net for geneology info. on my families. I stumbled across your page and read how both you and your husband were related to the Alexander family. Because my maiden name is Alexander and I was born in Kinston, NC, naturally I was interested in seeing who you were related to. Since I was about 10, I've always been interested in our geneology as I, like ou and your husband, come from very similar and related roots. I am a direct descendant of Hezekiah Alexander and Peregrine White, the first recorded child born in American who came over on the Mayflower. Several years ago one of my cousins was afforded the opportunity to explore the Alexander geneology in Ireland. When she returned, she compiled a family history as best she could at that time. Just for informational purposes, Hezekiah was born to James Alexander and Margaret McKnitt around 1713 and ha 10 children. James remarried to a third time to Abigail?? and had 5 more children. James was born in 1690 and died 1779 in Cecil County, MD. James was born to Joseph Alexander (born in 1660) and married Abigail McKnitt. Apparently, Joseph Alexander c me to America on the ship "Welcome" in 1679. Abigail McKnitt was the sister of John McKnitt, Sr. and, as you have found, these families traveled together and started new lives in North Carolina. I do have several pages of information I will be glad to f rward you if you are interested. Good luck with the continuation of your project!

Jeffress Ancestry-Green Jeffress, a slave born around 1830s in Virginia. He ended up in Warren County, NC. His wife Elinor (Ella) Scott Jeffress was also born in Virginia. Their daughter, Luvenia Jeffress Bullock (1864-1951) was my great-great grandmo her. I'm trying to find out what part of Virginia they were from.
