Loved your page. I'm currently working on an N-scale layout in my home. Its going to be the SP line from San Luis Obispo through to Watsonville Jct, specifically modeled in the '50's. With luck, I can have the basic layout totally running by the fall. This does not bode well with the operations group I'm a member of, since everyone else models "modern" roads (mostly NS) and we operate with radios. I'm planning on using Timetable and Train Orders, which is not getting the best response from my fellows. hat can I say? Saw that you are running with Digitracks. Originally I was not going to do it, but finally everyone dragged me kicking and screaming into it. I'll not admit this to them but I really like it now. Not only is using it quite easy, but I get out of a lot of asty block wiring. Anyway, thanks for sharing your railroads (and your doggies). He had a shelty a few years back. Your pictures brought back memories. Robert (Bluevoss) Raymond

I've recently discovered my fascination with trains and have found much relief to discover that I am not alone. I've given much tho ght about modeling, thinking that I would do HO, but I've recently begun giving serious consideration to N scale. for now I'll continue to surf the web.... Thanks.

Thanx for the great site!! I stayed up way too late last night admiring your layout & cool web page. I just attended a train show in Oklahoma, and was really missing my train collection. My mother practically gave away my childhood Lionel set from the 194 's (It was 2nd hand when Santa delivered it to me, and it was HUGE), then my ex-wife got rid of my HO and N stuff just for spite. I'm ready to get started again, with the support of my lovely new bride. She won the train show tickets after several days of relentess effort from a local radio station, just to surprise me. And invited a childhood friend of mine along who had enjoyed my old trains almost as much as I did. Your layout was almost exactly what I was looking for when first started surfing n scale sites, which what scale I plan on concentrating on this time. The portability of the layout w/ the cool foldup design is an incredible (and much welcome) surprise bon s. Are there any plans available? Any info and assistance you would be kind enough to offer would be greatly appreciated. Also, where on the www can I find info on these new (to me anyway) Digital controllers? THANX, Lyndle Smith

Looks like a nice layout. I tried a portable when livung in an apartment but it was too much of a hassle. We have a house now. One whole wall of the basement is my layout. Basically a dogbone 28 feet lone and 4 foot loops on the ends with a 6 foot 'L' on ne end for a yard and harbor facility. I like to run long trains through scenic vistas. Much of the basic construction and scenery is complete. Much detailing left to do. I model transition era so I can use both steam and deisel. (Love that Kato Mikado, best runnng loco I have) Good luck with your layout. Feel free to contact me.

I now live in the colorado rockies and would again enjoy doing a logging/mining layout. Enjoyed your page. Great job my friend. I'll be checkin back on it again soon. Thanx; Dennis

I enjoyed your layout and the portability. Have used computer connectors and telephone wire for wiring myself. Currently no operating system. Moved four years ago and everything is dismantled. New layout intended and deciding on N-scale modules versus round the room. I do mainly German double mainline runs, want to put in some caternary (nice description for Virginia prototype in N-Scale this last year, but only for appearance - I would like true function but do not like the prefab stuff) with mixed passenger and freight operations. I like lots of things running at the same time. So I keep looking for layout ideas. Thanks for sharing yours with all of us out here.

Just signing on for the first time. I've had N scale since 1970----in boxes!! I"m retired now and will make my layout to accomodate my 35 engines and 187 cars. my real desire is a large makeup yard ( have numerous frogs). Also I'm into passenger train . My favorite, the old PRR. that's it for now. I'll get back to you. Mike Wielunski Manchaca, Texas

Looks nice. Would be interested in how you manage folding the layout. Some pictures of the manner in which it folds and how you manage the problems of track alignment and power connections would be helpful, since I'd love to try the same sort of thing.
