We've had some wondeful times together. Look forward to many more!!!
First is, We have 4 great kids.(kids pics) Second is we built our first home with a lot of sweat! (our house) It was a great learning experience for a young couple. That was 16yrs ago. We are hoping to build another, but this time leave most up to the professionals!
One reason for doing this webpage is to make it easier to view pictures of me and my family and friends. The other is for me to get a better understanding of how this computer works!
A bit more about me. I was born in Chicago's "back of the yards" neighborhood. Anyone with a bit of history of Chicago will know this was an area that was mostly stock yards and railroads. Although by the time I was born in 57, most of the stockyards were moving out further into the suburbs. There was more land for their stock.
After 10yr of living there we moved to the Midway Airport area.. Gosh.. I was there recently You can't even tell where my block is anymore. Although.. You can see my old house from the Main Street! Boy have they redone the whole airport and surrounding neighborhood.!!
I got married in spring of "79.. shortly after turning 21, to a guy who was intorduced to me by a mutual friend. We dated on and off for 4 yrs. He worked for UPS and I worked in a shoe store as an assistant accesories manager. Making sure we had plenty of stock on hand for the counter clerks. I was with the company for just about 2 yrs.. got married and and was expecting our first child when I quit the job to be a full time mother. Our son was born in winter of '80. Then a year and a half later I had another son in the summer of '81. We had lived in a small apartment for 5 yrs. Built our home and then had another son in the summer of '87. And to complete our family we had a daughter in the winter of '89.
My oldest right now is living at home, attending college and working 2 jobs to help support himself and help pay for his college expenses. He is studying to be a computer programer. He's been on the Deans List at DeVry Institute of Technology.
My second son is living away at college during the school year and at home during breaks. He plans on having a carreer in education/public relations. He has also made the Deans list at DePaul University.
My third son is entering his first year of high school. Plays in the marching band. (band) He is also involved with scouting. He will earn his Life Rank soon. They love to go camping
My daughter, will attend 7th grade in junior high school. She also enjoys playing slow pitch softball and bowling.
I enjoy meeting people on the net. I use mostly ICQ but have id's in aol instant messenger, Yahoo, and msn. I have posted some of the dear friends I have made online over the past few years. These are very special friends to me. NOT every one I meet will make it to my page! smile. (friends pics)
I enjoy collecting musical water globes. I've been collecting them since my daughter was born. Tying to have one for each year of her birth.. but Ive managed to collect about 20 of them and she is only 12. oh well.. We both enjoy the ones we have. My hubby likes to collect the Star Trek Christmas ornaments.
I've have gotten him all but the very first one. I didn't know about the collection till the following year. Oh well.. Some day, I'll get the first edition.
I also enjoy swimming, softball, volleyball, bowling, and pool. Hubby likes camping, and goes as often as he can with the boy scouts. My older boys are Eagle Scouts (Eaglepic) and my third son is on his way. I believe he is a Star rank scout. Two more and he too will have earned his Rank of Eagle. (Scouting) Hubby also likes to do things around the house. The latest project is putting in concrete down for our side walk and patio. Which is now completed to date.
I also have dabbled in geneology. Although my aunt has done more than me. I try to keep up on my families side of things. I Find it interesting how far the family tree dates back.
