Fall Fun

Pictures are from October and November 2000

Lauren had a dress-up tea party for her 9th birthday.  This beautiful cake was made by a friend from church.  She had a great time with her friends, and especially Katherine.
While we don't usually celebrate Halloween around here, this year it seemed to be harder to avoid.  School and neighborhood kids were a major influence.  A.J. and Lauren decided they would do "Trick - or - treat for UNICEF" as a cowgirl and Darth Vader.

Katherine was a baby dinosaur.  She wore Lauren's costume from when Lauren was 1 year old.  Lauren was a tiny little baby compared to Katherine!

David stayed home and passed out candy to visitors.

In late October, on a beautiful Fall day, Lauren and AJ accompanied our homeschool group on a field trip to a Renaissance Fair in Charlotte.  There were sword fighters (left), sword swallowers, sword makers, sword sellers, sword buyers (AJ), Shakespearean prose, even a jousting tournament.  We had a great time!  For David, it was the end of a long study of the Middle Ages and Renaissance.  David was camera shy (again) so he didn't get in the photo.  But he enjoyed it all.
