projects lists OMTLin is a GNU/Linux project I started at 2000, as a direct descendant of a previous project in DOS/Windows with aims to replicate Siemens' Operation and Maintenance Terminal (OMT) for their EWSD and D900 Switching Exchange. I started the project for a number of reasons, firstly, I find it hard to be happy whenever I use their (at the time, Unix-based) OMT which I don't know how to extend. Secondly, the other version of OMT (called OMTV) implemented for DOS/Windows was not that much better either. It does give some helpful features to automate work, but it doesn't have networking ability. Sure you can use things like PC-Anywhere to remote it, but what I needed was something faster and leaner. ... ... ...
