Disneyland 2008!
Just got back from Disney. Five days, four on the park. We rode everything we wanted too (at least three times, sometimes five) We bought a subscription to Ridemax and never stood in line more than 15 minutes for anything. The exception was the new Nemo ride as it has no ride max yet. It was okay but not worth a second ride.
Monday - arrived at Long Beach Airport and had a shuttle to the hotel. Arrived at the hotel at 10:30am and on park by 11
Went to California Adventure this day (it was Memorial Day Holiday so both parks were packed)
Rode:
Monsters' Inc., Soaring over California (X2), Grizzly river run (brought 80 cents ponchos from Walmart, people in line begged for them afterwards) It's a bug's life, Ian went on tower of terror while the rest did Sun Wheel Farris Wheel, Muppet vision 3D. Dinner at Denny's and to the hotel (collape)
Tuesday
Buzz Lightyear (x3, I won each time) Indiana Jones (x2) Pirates (x2) Nemo (see above) Star tours (boys went twice, I had to sit for a minute) Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder, Space Mountain (Ian and I only on this one), Jungle Cruise, Then for lunch we went to the Golden Horseshoe and watched a fiddling comedy show called Billy Hill and the Hillbillies (the seats were taken an hour before the show) (side note, we shared a piece of mile high cake for desert, it is taller than my forearm (we took a picture)) Indiana Jones Stage show and watched the parade.
Wednesday
Indiana (x2 again) Tiki Room (never again) Peter Pan (longer wait than most) Casey Jr. (has the most amazing bonzi trees), Haunted Mansion (again) Pirates Lair (this use to be Tom Sawer's Island but they have updated it nicely) Roger Rabbit and all of Toon Town, Went to Downtown Disney to look at the shops and had lunch at the LaBrea Restaurant, Honey I Shrunk the Audience Show, Tarzan Tree House, and went to Innoventions to ride segways (way cool)
Thursday - Early admission day (yay?!)
Matterhorn (Ian and Kevin were the first riders of the day), Mr Toads Wild ride, Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio's Daring Journey, Snow White's Scary Adventure, Buzz Lightyear (I lost my crown this time) and Star Tours. We had now been on the park two hours and were looking around going - What is left - Jungle Cruise, Indy (fifth time is the charm) California Screeming (Ian did this as a solo rider and was in line and done in 10 minutes) Soaring (by now we are doing critiques of the view and how the ride is run), Shopping for a gift for each of us, Jedi Academy Show (Vader being kicked by seven year old, it was a hoot) 50 years of Disney show (where the old presidents use to be) Splash Mountain (yay for wet sweaty teens) The Disneyland Railroad then to IHOP for dinner.
We flew out at 10 this morning, arrived in SLC by 1230, Sara picked us up, took us to lunch, I have unpacked, done three loads of laundry, Kevin mowed and Ian is alreay at work.
I need a vacation
