NB: It
is somewhat misleading to refer to the core members of the Society
by their legal names, for though they are known by these for almost
every other purpose, in the context of Society communications
they are always known as "Baud," with no attempt made,
or necessary, to distinguish between one and the other. It is
always obvious to whom the speaker is referring, provided the
speaker is a member of the Society, a state of affairs so probable
as to make its negation unimaginable. An imperfect analogy can
be drawn with the obviousness of the reference of "I"
and "you" when used by a member of the society speaking
that language, English. "I" in direct discourse always
successfully refers to the speaker. The features of Baud linguistics
need to be worked out with greater rigor.
