Chicago Dhamma School

This is to inform all budhists in the Chicagoland that a Dhamma School is conducted once a month by Ven.Kondanna from Staten Island, NY Buddhist Temple at Hinsdale, IL. BACKGROUND

With the leadership of Mr Lucky Mapa, the Dhamma class was started in 1999. Currently there are two Dhamma classes for the age groups: Age 5-10 and Age 11-18. The classes have been very successful with regular participation. The classes are only offered once a month and parents make every effort to set this date  aside for children's dhamma education. It gives children more than just learning Dhamma. It is  learning to offer Dhanaya, Worship Monks, learning the culture, being with other SriLankan's and more than any thing else learn to be a Buddhist. These monthly classes have been enourmously beneficial to growing children. With more help it is the goal of all the participants to make this a weekly event.
