MY TAYLOR FAMILY
After James M Taylor died in 1901,
Mary came west to California where
most of her children were. They had
settled in Lemoore California. She lived here till she died in 1916. she is buried in the Taylor Family Cemetery in Lemoore, California.

James Madison Taylor was the son of Jonathan Taylor and Barsheba Daniel Taylor.  He was born and raised in Carter County, Tennessee.                                                        
  On this page you will see the children of James M Taylor and Mary A. Peoples. They were my great grandparents. You will also see pictures of my grandfather, Charles E. Taylor. I have added all of my grandfathers brothers and sisters except for Emma, who died at the age of seven in Tennessee. .
Elizabeth pictured below with her mother and Aunt Mattie, died before all the family came to California.

partner accused him of cheating him
out of gold in their gold strike!
He could not stand the thought of someone thinking he would cheat.

Elizabeth C. Taylor Wilcox,  and Mattie Morrison Taylor.
Elizabeth died in 1897 before the family came to California. husband, Malon Wilcox
A couple of years ago I got an e-mail from some people in Carter County, TN, and they had found Elizabeth's headstone on the back of their property. They also found the headstone of William Brownlow Taylor brother of James M Taylor. It shows he died in 1898.

He delivered mail for 47 years.
Grandpa also played the banjo.
