Wilhite/Harl

My great, great grandmother was Eliza Wilhite. Her parents were Stephen Wilhite and Sarah (Rowland) Wilhite. The family lived in Boone County, Missouri. Eliza's first husband was Lewis H. Harl. They were married May 6, 1838 in Boone County, Missouri. They had three children: William H., Stephen C., and John Louis. Lewis left Missouri with a group going to the California Gold Rush. There was no record of his return; so his estate was probated the last quarter of 1851. Eliza married William Overton Harris on June 7, 1855 in Boone Co., MO. They had Sarah (Sally) and Overton Harris. Overton died before 1860. Eliza and her family moved to Daviess County, Missouri between 1860 and 1870. She died January 4, 1890. She was buried in the old Jordin Cemetary in Jackson Township, Daviess County, Missouri.
