This Web Site serves as a resource for scouts, parents, and den leaders to get up to the date information on Pack 603. It is also meant to inform families and friends who are interested in our Cub Scout program and Scouting in general. As such, it is a constant work in progress. At the March PACK MEETING we bid farewell to our Second Year Webelos.
The Dragons and Golden Eagles have completed their time in Cub Scouting. We wish them and their families well! Two Scouts (Zack and Eric) will be moving onto Boy Scout Troop 612.
PINEWOOD DERBY RACES 2005
On Saturday, February 26 we held our annual Pinewood Derby Races!
Races were held in the following 3 Divisions:
Tiger/Wolf/Bear - Dens #2, #1, #8
Webelos - Dens #5 & #6, Dragon Patrol and Golden Eagle Patrol
Open - everyone else !

PINEWOOD DERBY TUNE-UP
Was held on Saturday, February 5. 16 Scouts, several sibilings (and even some parents) got assistance in building a super pinewood derby car. Thank you Cubmaster Kurt Cruickshank

Our Annual Pancake Breakfast was held on Sunday, January 23.
We had a great turnout and a very successful fundraiser.

Over a dozen Scouts and their friends and family, for a total of 54 people, enjoyed the Globetrotters in San Jose and Oakland on January 15 and 16
The Globetrotters provided a pre-game photo session, "Globetrotter University" and an autograph session after the game. Each attendee also received a free patch!
PACK T-SHIRT SILK SCREENING
On Saturday, January 15, 2005 West Coast Sporting Goods allowed 7 Scouts to create their own Pack T-Shirt.
The Golden Eagle Patrol Leader, Jon, coordinated the annual Christmas Tree Pick-up community service/Pack fund raiser.

Scouting for Food - Canned Food Drive
Over two Saturdays in November, Pack 603 distributed bags and collected food donations from our neighbors in San Lorenzo
Nearly all the Scouts participated in this annual community service event!
We collected over 2000 cans of food and hundreds of other packaged food items. The donations will benefit both the Alameda County Food Bank and the local San Lorenzo Food Pantry.
Thank you to all the Scouts and families that participated. A BIG thanks to Den 8 for coordinating the event!

JAMBOREE ON THE AIR (JOTA)
Saturday, October 16
Scouts were able to operate a ham radio and talk to other Scouts around the world. Special radio "maps" were on display, as well as the ability to learn Morse Code. Adult volunteers were on hand to assist the Scouts with Cub-related advancements.
A total of 24 people attended BACK TO SCHOOL DAY WITH THE OAKLAND A'S on Friday, October 1, 2004 at 7:05PM. They watched the A's vs Angels game and enjoyed the firework show afterwards!

SUMMERTIME ACTIVITY #2
Seven Scouts with their families met at the end of West Winton Ave in Hayward for a ride along the Hayward Shoreline. Attendees were:

Golden Eagles: Samuel
Each Scout reviewed bike safety, worked on their Biking Belt Loop, observed wild animals, learned about an endangered species at the Shoreline Interpretative Center and received a bike bell! Thank you to Pat Schultz for leading the event!!
Sunday, June 27 was our annual Pack Picnic and our SUMMERTIME ACTIVITY #1
THANK YOU to Krissi and Judi for coordinating the food and site and to each Den for the fun games!!
We had a nice turnout and a great time at the San Lorenzo Community Park (aka "the Duck Pond"). Kurt and Glenn barbecued hot dogs, links and chicken. The Pack provided drinks, condiments, plates and utensils and each family brought a side dish to share.
