Look pretty good for a Grandma,
don't ya think? Although I've got to be honest .. the picture is a little old and
retouched..just a little bit. Now y'all know what they say about Texas don't
ya? We grow everything bigger and better in Texas .. just ask us. |
Did you realize that it takes as long to
drive across the state from Orange, Texas on the East to El Paso, Texas on the West as it
does to drive from El Paso to San Diego, California. I don't even want to think
about the drive from Brownsville at the southern tip to Amarillo up in the northern
panhandle. Maybe you get the idea about the size of this great state.
Texas has a rich and varied past. From
cattle ranches to the oil fields, to rice farmers, the wine makers to the high tech
area of Austin there's a little something for everyone. We boast of mountains, great
beaches, deep piney woods and yes even desert terrain in our state.
As for the weather we like to say that if
you don't like it just wait about 5 mins and it will change. It can be 80 degrees in
one area and snowing in another part of the state.
Thoughout this site I will be sharing
stories, recipes and things of interest about Texas.
So pull up a chair....fixed yourself your
favorite beverage....listen to some great music by some great Texas musicians and
enjoy your tour of Grandma Texas' Salute to Texas.
