"The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image. Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them." -Thomas Morton: No Man is an Island
My name is Phyllis. This site is about my life and the people that are important to me. I have received many gifts in my life and my family is my biggest one. I have also been blessed with many very special friends. You will meet them as you browse through my pages. This site is my way of letting my family and friends know how very special they are to me. I have also been given the opportunity to touch the lives of young children. And they have touched mine in return. I hold that responsibility and priviledge very close to my heart. Every day I thank God for the blessings I have received.

And a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; A time to plant, and a time to uproot; A time to kill, and a time to heal; A time to tear down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; A time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather them; A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to seek, and a time to give up; A time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; A time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and time to hate;
A time for war, and a time for peace This passage from the book of Ecclesiastes ends another book I am very fond of. That book is called "It's Always Darkest Before the Fun Comes Up" by Chonda Pierce. This sums up what I believe that life is....there is a time for everything.
JUST FOR TODAY Just for today I will try to live through this day only, and not tackle all my problems at once. I can do something for 12 hours that would appall me if I had to keep it up for a lifetime Just for today I will be happy. This assumes to be true what Abraham Lincoln said, that "Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be" Just for today I will adjust myself to what is, and not try to adjust everything to my own desires. I will take my "luck" as it comes, and fit myself into it. Just for today I will have a program. I may not follow it exactly, but I will have it. I will save myself from 2 pests: hurry and indecision. Just for today I will be unafraid. Especially I will not be afraid to enjoy what is beautiful, and to believe that as I give to the world so shall the world give to me. When a sweet and gentle spirit can breeze across sunken shoulders and whisper peace and joy to broken hearts--that's when you must throw up your hands and say, "There is no explanation. It is undeniably God, and in him there is joy and laughter after the rain. After the pain. Chonda Pierce This page is created by Phyllis and Craig.
