God's Promise
God didn't promise
days without pain
laughter without sorrow
or sun without rain,
But God did promise
stength for the day,
comfort for the tears
and a light for the way,
And for all who believe
In his Kingdom above,
He answers their faith
with everlasting love.

Humankind has not
woven the web of life.
We are but one
thread within it.
whatever we do to the
web,
We do to ourselves
all things are bound
together.
All things connect.

FOOTPRINTS
One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking
along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed
scenes from
his life. For each scene, he noticed
two sets of footprints in the sand: one
belonged to him, and
the other to the Lord. When the last scene
of his life
flashed before him, he looked back
at the footprints in the sand. He
noticed that many times along
the path of his life there was only one
set of
footprints. He also noticed that it
happened at the very lowest and saddest
time in his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned
the Lord
about it."LORD , you said that once
I decided to follow you, you'd walk with
me all
the way. But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in
my life, there is only one set
of footprints. I don't understand why when I
needed you
most you would leave me". The Lord replied, " My
precious, precious child. I love you and I would
never leave you. During your
times of trail and suffering, when you
see only one set of footprints, it was
then
that I carried you".

The art of living lies less in eliminating
our troubles than in growing with them.

A minister passing through his
church in the middle of the day,
Decided to pause by the altar
and see who had come to pray.
Just then the back door opened,
a man came down the aisle,
The minister frowned as he saw the man
hadn't shaved in a while.
His shirt was kinda shabby and
his coat was worn and frayed.
The man knelt, he bowed his head,
then rose and walked away.
In the days that followed,
each noon time came this chap,
Each time he knelt just for a moment,
a lunch pail in his lap.
Well, the minister's suspicions grew,
with robbery a main fear,
He decided to stop the man and ask him,
"What are you doing here?"
The old man said, he worked down the road.
Lunch was half an hour.
Lunchtime was his prayer time,
for finding strength and power.
"I stay only moments, see,
because the factory is so far away;
As I kneel here talking to the Lord,
this is kinda what I say:
"I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD,
HOW HAPPY I'VE BEEN
SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHER'S FRIENDSHIP
AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN.
DON'T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY,
BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY.
SO, JESUS, THIS IS JIM CHECKING IN."
The minister feeling foolish,
told Jim, that was fine.
He told the man he was welcome to come
and pray just anytime.
Time to go, Jim smiled, said "Thanks."
He hurried to the door.
The minister knelt at the alter,
he'd never done it before.
His cold heart melted, warmed with love,
and met with Jesus there.
As the tears flowed, in his heart,
he repeated old Jim's prayer:
"I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD,
HOW HAPPY I'VE BEEN,
SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHER'S FRIENDSHIP
AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN.
I DON'T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY,
BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY.
SO, JESUS, THIS IS ME CHECKING IN."
Past noon one day, the minister noticed
that old Jim hadn't come.
As more days passed without Jim,
he began to worry some.
At the factory, he asked about him,
learning he was ill.
The hospital staff was worried,
but he'd given them a thrill.
The week that Jim was with them,
brought changes in the ward.
His smiles, a joy contagious.
Changed people, were his reward.
The head nurse couldn't understand
why Jim was so glad,
When no flowers, calls or cards came,
not a visitor he had.
The minister stayed by his bed,
he voiced the nurse's concern:
No friends came to show they cared.
He had nowhere to turn.
Looking surprised, old Jim spoke up
and with a winsome smile;
"The nurse is wrong, she couldn't know,
that in here all the while
Everyday at noon He's here,
a dear friend of mine, you see,
He sits right down, takes my hand,
leans over and says to me:
"I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, JIM,
SINCE WE FOUND THIS FRIENDSHIP,
AND I TOOK AWAY YOUR SIN.
ALWAYS LOVE TO HEAR YOU PRAY,
I THINK ABOUT YOU EACH DAY,
AND SO JIM, THIS IS JESUS CHECKING IN."
Don't expect a great day; make one!
Your presence is a present to the world
You're unique and one
of a kind
Your life can be what you want it to be
Take the
days just one at a time
Count your blessings, not your troubles
You'll make it through
whatever comes along
Within you are so many answers
Understand, have courage, be strong
Don't put limits on yourself So many
dreams are waiting to be
realized
Decisions are too important to leave to chance
Reach for your peak, your goal, your prize
Nothing wastes more energy than worrying
The longer one
carries a problem, the heavier it gets
Don't take things too
seriously
Live a life of serenity, not a life of regrets
Remember that a little love goes a long way
Remember that a
lot... goes forever
Remember that friendship is a wise
investment
Life's treasures are people...together
Realize that it's never too late
Do ordinary things in an
extraordinary way
Have health and hope and happiness
Take
the time to wish upon a star
And don't ever forget...
for even a day...
how very special you are...

Interview with God
I dreamed I had an interview with God.
"Come in," God said. "So, you would like to interview
Me?"
"If you have the time," I said.
God smiled and said: "My time is eternity and is
enough to do
everything;
what questions do you have in mind to ask me?"
"What surprises you most about mankind?"
God answered, "That they get bored of being children,
are in a rush to
grow up, and then long to be children again. That they
lose their
health to
make money and then lose their money to restore their
health. That by
thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the
present, such that
they live
neither for the present nor the future. That they live
as if they will
never die, and they die as if
they had never lived..."
God's hands took mine and we were silent for while and
then I
asked..."As a
parent, what are some of life's lessons you want your
children to
learn?"
God replied with a smile:
"To learn that they cannot make anyone love them. What
they can do is
to
let themselves be loved.
To learn that what is most valuable is not what they
have in their
lives,
but who they have in their
lives.
To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to
others. All will
be
judged individually on their own merits, not as a
group on a comparison
basis!
To learn that a rich person is not the one who has the
most, but is one
who
needs the least.
To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open
profound wounds in
persons we love, and that it takes many years to heal
them. To learn to
forgive by practicing forgiveness.
To learn that there are persons that love them dearly,
but simply do
not
know how to express or show their feelings. To learn
that money can buy
everything but happiness.
To learn that two people can look at the same thing
and see it totally
different.
To learn that a true friend is someone who knows
everything about
them...and likes them anyway.
To learn that it is not always enough that they be
forgiven by others,
but
that they have to forgive themselves."
People will forget what you said. People will forget
what you did, but
people will never forget how you made them feel.
ANGELS
THINGS AREN'T ALWAYS WHAT THEY SEEM
Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night
in the home of a wealthy family.
The family was rude and refused to let
the angels stay in the mansion's guest room
. Instead the angels were given a small space
in the cold basement.
As they made their bed on the hard cold floor
,the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it.
The younger angels asked why, the older angel replied,
"Things aren't always what they seem."
The next night they came to a house of a poor farmer and his wife.
Poor but hopitable the farmer and his wife invited the
the angels to share what little food they had and to sleep in there
bed where they could have a good nights rest.
When the sun came up the angels found the farmer and his wife in tearsThe younger angels was infuriated and asked the older angle
how could you have let this happen? The first man had everything, yet you him,
she accused.
The second man had little and was willing to share everything, and you let his cow die.
"Things aren't always what they seem," The older angel repied.
"when we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold
stored in the hole in the wall. I sealed it so he would'nt find it."
"Then Last night as we slept in the farmers bed,
The angel of death came for the farmers wife. I gave him the cow instead.
Things arent always what they seem."
Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things don't turn out the way they should
If you have faith , you just need to trust that the outcome is always to your advantage.
You might not know it until sometime later.....
Some people come into our lives and quickly go.
Some people become friends and stay awhile leaving
beautiful footprints on our hearts and we are never
quite the same because we have made a good friend!!!
