How to get the free gift of eternal life:

Jesus is the way!

1. Admit you need the gift.

We have a saying, "Nobody's perfect." The Bible fully agrees.
Romans 3:23 says, "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
The word sin originally comes from the Greek word "miss the mark." If you are not perfectly on target in everything you do, then you have misssed the mark, and you have sinned.
That might not seem so bad to you, but it separates you from God, who is perfect and holy. God considers sin far more serious than people consider sin, because God knows all of the harm and grief that sin brings.
Isaiah 59:2 says that our sin separates you from God. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages [payment] of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." You must admit that you are a sinner in need of the gift of forgiveness and eternal life.

2. Realize that the gift is in Jesus.

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me" (John 14:6). Jesus is the only way to receive the gift of salvation. He said so himself.
Why? Because only Jesus paid the price for your sin.
Romans 5:8 says, "God showed us how much he loved us in this: While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

3. Accept the gift by faith.

You must receive the gift of eternal life by faith in Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For by grace are you saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God-- not the result of works, so that no one may boast."
It is not by faith plus anything. Some people seek to come to God by faith plus baptism, faith plus a good life, etc. We should desire baptism. We should desire to live a good life. But those things do not save us; they come later as a result of salvation. We are saved by faith alone. Romans 10:9,13 says, "Because if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. . . For, 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.'"

Would you like your free gift now? Then say a prayer like this:

"Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe that you died on the cross to pay for my sins. I trust my life to you. Come into my life, and forgive me of my sins. I will live for you the rest of my life. In Jesus' name. Amen."

Did you pray that prayer? If you sincerely prayed that prayer, then you have received the free gift of eternal life! We'd like to hear about it so we can help you live for Jesus. Click here to send an e-mail and we'll send you helpful information on living for Jesus Christ. God bless you!
