What's New
October Calendars and checklists are up for all classes.
Updated October 13, 2008.
I am planning my fifth year at Higher Ground. I love teaching for the homeschooling community so much, and it has been a privilege to do so the past four years.
Some of you may not know me or my background, so let me tell you more about myself. I am a former homeschooler myself - I was taught at home for most of third grade, all of fourth grade, about half of seventh grade, and all of tenth and eleventh grade. To keep this story short, my other schooling years were spent in both public and private school settings. I think this varied background serves me well now as I work with students from many different educational paths.
My college education was at Burlington County College and Phildelphia Biblical University. I graduated in 2004 from PBU's Teacher Ed program, and hold two Bachelor of Science degrees - in Bible and Education. English was my emphasis - an unofficial minor. I believe PBU's Teacher Ed program to be one of the best in this area and its student teachers are often requested by public and private schools surrounding the campus. I am ACSI and Pennsylvania certified. I am in the process of getting a NJ certificate as well.
In December 2007 I began substitute teaching at The King's Christian School and for the 2007-2008 school year was a part-time teacher of 6th grade Bible and 9th Grade English.
Read the course webpages for more detailed information on the classes. I'll see you in September!
