I am searching for any information on the Stewart/Suart family from Lexington, KY. My gr grandmother's name was Della Smith Stewart/Stuart (she spelled the name both ways). She was born on April 2, 1908. Her mother's name was Bessie Mae. I do not know
her father's name. My gr grandmother had a brother named Wallace and several sisters. The only sister's name I can recall is Pearl and possibly Bessie. Della married Sherman Walters and had one child, a daughter named Ima Gene Walters. Ima Gene marrie
Willis Ramey from Ohio. Willis and Ima Gene had 2 children, Linda and Roger. Linda is my mother. I believe that Della's father was German and possibly American Indian, but I am not sure. Sherman and Della divorced before WWII and Sherman married into
his daughter's (Ima Gene) future family, the Rameys. If you have any information, I would greatly appreciate it.

We are trying to locate my greatgrandmother's family (Nelsen)that were in Astoria, Oregon around the late 1800's to the early 1900's. We believe her father or uncle owned a jewelry store there. She married my father's father, Clinton Stiger, and was dis
wned by her family. We recently found her unmarked grave in San Francisco (Colma's Mt. Olivet Cemetery) and want to know more of the history and background. She has been there, alone, for 86 years. My father, her son, is 89 years old and was three (3)
ears old when she died of Tuberculosis. We've lived in the San Francisco Bay Area most of our lives and had no idea she was so close by. The name on the Death Certificate was misspelled and we almost gave up hope. Any help would be appreciated.

I am trying to locate information on Carl August Ludwig Kreutz and his brother/half brother Johann Carl Friedrick Kreutz. I would love to find out exactly who their parents were and where they lived. At the moment I suspect they could have been Jacob Fr
derick Kreutz and Louisa Petersby or Frederick Kreutz and Elizabeth Bedewn. Information seems to vary. I believe Carl August was born in Rostock c. 1842. I believe he came to Australia c.1868, possibly as part of a crew. He was a master mariner. He m
rried his niece, Anna Amanda Franziska Kreutz, in Aug 1888 in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia. I believe Anna was born in Stettin c.1868. She died in Bundaberg in Oct 1946, aged 86 years. Carl August died 2 Apr 1890 in a shipping accident near Rockham
ton, Queensland, Australia, aged 48 years.
Johann Carl Friedrick Kreutz, b. c.1843 in Prosen/Lodz Harben(?) Germany. He married Bertha Louisa Johanna Fritz c.1866 in Storkau (near Stendal) Germany. Bertha was born c.1845, possibly in Ronou(?). They came to Australia onboard the "Compta", which
ailed from Plymouth on 23 Nov 1881. With them came some of their children: Louisa Emma Nathalia, Anna Amanda Franziska, Ernst (Emil Johan), Theodor, William (William Ernst August), Bertha (Martha Margaret Augustus) and Leopold (Alfred Lionel). They set
led in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia. I believe possibly two sons may have stayed in Germany or died prior to the family emigrating. Other children born after arrival in Australia were Rosa Compta, Anna Amanda Helena and Reinhardt Robert Alex.
Johann Carl died Aug 1916 in Bundaberg aged 73. Bertha died Jul 1934 in Bundaberg aged 92.
Any help on locating this family's place of origin in Germany would be great! Any knowledge of Kreutz's in Rostock, Berlin, Storkau, Stettin prior to 1882 could give me a lead!
NOTE: THEY ALL CHANGED THEIR NAME FROM KREUTZ TO CROSS AFTER ARRIVAL IN AUSTRALIA.

Searching for information on Col. John Patton, his father and brother William and any siblings. The following is information provided by Mary Patton Sperry circa 1920's.
The name Patton, sometimes spelled "Patten" is of Scotch origin. People bearing the
name, at present , live in almost every village in Scotland. The earliest American
ancestor of Mary Patton Sperry migrated from Scotland to the colonies and settled in
the lower part of the valley of the Delaware River, near the abutting boundaries of
Delaware and Chester Counties, PA., and New Castle County, Delaware. His name was
1. William Patton and he was employed as a school teacher or professor. He had at least
two sons, 2.William and 2.Col.John Patton, who became land owners and farmers in
Chester County, PA. On the outbreak of the War of the Revolution, Col. John Patton
enlisted as a private in the Second Regiment of Delaware Infantry and marched with the
regiment under General Washington, to the relief of the city of Boston. He continued in
the service of the Revolutionary Army until the disbanding of the army after the signing
of the treaty of peace in 1783, and the regiment in which he served was part of the main
army under the direct command of General Washington during the entire war. Mr.
Patton, by merit, filled every successive rank in his regiment, from private to colonel.
He advanced by steps, first, a corporal, sergeant, orderly sergeant, second lieutenant, first
lieutenant, captain, major, lieutenant colonel and immediately after the battle of
Brandywine in which Col. David L. Hall of the Second Delaware Infantry was so badly
wounded that he was compelled to retire from service, he was made colonel of the
regiment, which rank he still held at the battle of Yorktown. When mustered out of the
service he breveted a higher rank. He was wounded a number of times, but none of the
wounds were sufficiently serious to compel him to even temporarily leave his regiment.
In 1785 we and his brother William taught school near Clarksburg, VA, for a year before
returning to PA.
His brother, William Patton, who served in the infantry as a private from 1780-1781 in
Captain William Brisban's Company of the First Battalion of Lancaster County, Pa .,
Militia, he was born in Chester County PA., April 21, 1761. He married in Pennsylvania,
Susanna Lewis, who was born Nov. 5, 1761 and died Aug 28, 1828, she was the
daughter of Alexander Lewis and Mary Smith and second cousin to the steamship
inventor Robert Fulton. William Patton died July 28, 1826. William Patton was the
first school teacher in Duck Creek, V/WV. He was known as squire, a farmer, and land
owner. William and Susanna Lewis Patton and a number of their children were born in
PA, removed to West Milford, Duck Creek, Harrison County, Virginia/WV, where they
died and along with members of their family are buried in the Patton Cemetery. They
were the parents of Col. Alexander Lewis Patton who married Ruth Henton (Smith)
Patton.
Children of William Patton and Susanna Lewis Patton are:.
3.Col. Alexander Lewis Patton, born July 23, 1789, died May 21, 1866, at 5:00 o'clock
a.m. He married Ruth Henton Smith at West Milford, VA. July 23, 1814, who was born
in Clermont County, Ohio, May 31, 1798, and died at West Milford on Aug. 7, 1848.
Col. Alexander Lewis Patton was a captain, and on the 18th day of April 1826, was
commissioned a colonel by John Tyler, Governor of Virginia, of the Eleventh Virginia
Infantry, to succeed Col. Jonathan Jackson, retired. Col. Jackson was the father of
General Thomas J (Stonewall ) Jackson
.
Children born to Col. Alexander L. Patton and Ruth Smith Patton were:
4.Zachariah Smith Patton, born June 18, 1815, descendants living in Missouri.
William Henton Patton, born Sept. 26, 1817; no issue surviving;

Methodist Episcopal Church; died at Knightstown, Ind., leaving no issue;

Looking for info on parents of Bradley BRAMAN, according to his grave

the 1850 census says he was born in Mansfield, CT. and according to
the age given on this census, 45, he should have been b. 1805-6. A
son Dwight, says he was b. Windham, CT. so we believe this family should
be found in the upper part of what was then New London co. CT. Bradley
married Rhoda Barrows in the Mansfield area, and she is listed as having
joined the Congregational church in Windham, July 7, 1839. Please any

I am researching my family name which is Holyday and my Grandmothers which is Danpure. The Danpure name comes from the explorer who discovered Australia before Cook did. I would be most grateful for any information. Especially if anyone has seen a war mem
rial believed to contain a Holyday that is sited in Sydney Harbour. Is this true or just a tale that old members of the family have come up with. I was born in Croydon,Surrey and my fathers father moved to Western-Super-Mare after he and Gran divorced bac
in the 40's. I have found that much but need to find his father and so on.

I am researching the Woitaszewski family lineage back to when a Frank and Mary Wojtaszewski came over to the United States from Poland around 1880. I guess they changed the spelling of the name from Wojt... to Woit.... after they came over here because th
y thought it would be easier for people to spell. I am in a round about way researching the Lewandowski name also. My great great grandfather was Frank Woitaszewski and he and his wife Mary (Lewandowski) Woitaszewski came over here to Ashton Sherman Co. N

LQQKING for information, descendants, long lost cousins :-) For James Davie and wife Elizabeth Gorden. Elizabeth was from Aberdeen, and the census material for both of them stated they were of Scottish descent. I have not confirmed where James is from yet
Their eldest son was James Jr and he was born/baptised at the Parish of Slains in 1837. As far as I can figure the parish may have been located in Kirkland of Slains, just north of Aberdeen City. They floated across the sea to Paisley, Bruce County, Onta
io, Canada and settled in 1854 were they own 300 acres, thus being farmers. Other children were: Gavin (m. Armanella Scott) Jonathon, Racheal Forrest, William (m.Elizabeth Yeates) James (m. Isabella b.Scotland) Isabella and Agnes. I would like to know the
exact location of the Parish of Slains, I realize it is not longer and use. The last recordings were 1854 - births.

Seek information on Dawson family from Clougher, County Tyrone, North Ireland. My husband's grandfather was Samuel Gilbert Dawson, son of William John Dawson and Mary Ann Irwin. I recently found a diary belong to Lillian Dawson, daughter of Samuel. She
states in her diary that two of her father's brothers left NI in 1891 for the United States. They liked it so well that the rest of the family followed in Apr 1899 on the steamship Furnessia. What info would I be able to locate about them on the ships r
cords. I had sent money to a researcher of ships records, but all I did was lose my money. The diary goes on to state that their arrival was in New York. Their final destination was in Iowa. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am searching for my grandfather's home in Germany. His name is August Wedler and his father's name was Frederich. He was born in 1857 and came to America in 1874. I have not found him on a ship list or the port he started from. However, the more I learn
he may have come from Essen. In that case he probably came out of Bremen and I know a lot of the ship lists were lost during the bombing of Bremen.
If any one has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you.
