Hi ,

I'm searching for information on Hoswitschka and on the name Steffan. These where my grandparents last names. They were from Heinersdorf Czech. Their birthdates approx. 1900. I can't find anything on Hoswitschka. My father thinks the name was changed at some time. As for Steffan, my grandmothers name, I believe my father said they owned some sort of ski resor t in Czech. Please if any one can help me I would really appreciate it.

Searching for parents of Levin Mulnix. LEVIN(1) MULNIX was born January 03, 1813 in Sussex County Delaware, and died 1896 in Woodland Park, Colorado. He married DEBORAH CLOVER STOVER 1839 in Rome, New York ?.Biography - Not too much is know about Levin, although we know he was born in Delaware and his wife Deborah Clover (Stover) was born in New York, possibly Rome, but at least in upstate N.Y. from information given to (Charlotte Lewis Mulnix), she remembered her grandparents very well and said that Levin was a small man with a fringe beard, hite of course when she knew him. The grandmother, Deborah Stover, had some ailment or deformity in her right foot and walked on her heel, causing quite a limp. The were probably married in Chicago as that is where most of the children were born. They wen to Kansas with a colony and farmed for nearly 12 years before moving to Colorado. He was a farmer. 1851, aka Levi- Danehower's Directory 1851 - a tanner. Looking for family lines on Fazzolari. Salvatore Fazzolari was born in June of 1890 and died in 1970. He was married to Mary Sistini Fazzolari. She was born in 1904 and died in June of 1942. Her brother, Tony Sistini was born in June of 1909 and died in J ne of 1974. Salvatore was born in South Italy, supposedly in the town of Mammola. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Ggfather was William John Ermis, Sr. dob 11-26-1853 in Ticha, Moravia, Czech., married Marie Horak dob 6-1866 whos father was Joseph Horak dob 1827 in Hodslavice Moravia and he married Marie Kader dob 1830. Henry Ecroyd born about 1819 in/around Salford, County Lancashire, England. He marriage a Margaret Haworth around 1845 and they had a boy, James Ecroyd 1946 and a girl, Jeanette 1948. He left England sometime after 1948 with the 2 children and arrived in hiladelphia, PA prior to 1854. He remarriage a Ruth Smith and they had 4 children. Elizabeth 1856, Joseph 1858, William Henry 1860, and George Edmund 1864. Henry died in 1865 and later Ruth sold the property in Philadelphia and returned to Wappingers Fall , NY where she remarried a ?? Hickson. Ruth died in 1903 and her husband Mr. Hickson and step-daughter moved somewhere (maybe Leon County, Florida). My grandmother, Della Elizabeth Truman nee Cordiner (??? spelling of last name) was born in 1882 (approximately) she or her parents came from County Tyrone Ireland. She married a Truman and had four children: two boys, one of whom died as a child, the oth r one died later in life of TB; and two daughters, Margaret Peterson nee Truman (died in Emmett Idaho and had one son Robert Anthony Peterson USNavy Ret) and Martha Elizabeth Helphrey nee Truman born in 1906 (maybe in Bismark ND). Martha married Earl Henr Helphrey, attended Kinmon Business University, Along with her husband owned and operated Helphrey's IGA in Spokane Washington. She died in 1972 and is buried with her husband and my grandmother. Any information on the Truman family or the Cordiner family would be greatly appreciated especially if it pertains to my grandmother and her family.

My name is Arnaud Le Lann, I live in France, and am 28. I am looking for people everywhere in the world that have the same family name... I know that we are very few (only 500 people in France), and most of us are located in the westernmost part of France : Britanny, and especially in tonws and villages such as : Landerneau, Bannalec, Cast, Chateaulin.

The name Le Lann has a celtic origin, and means, in breton language :"weeds". Formerly, before french revolution (1789), it was spelled and written "ar lann". Actually, the french admisnistration has changed the breton article "ar" into the french one "le ... That is why many people who have a name beginning with "le" such as Le Moine, Le Bihan, can find some ancesters who were bretons and had names which began with "ar"...

I'm looking for a marriage between a George Cousins and Jennet? You see no one can find a maiden name for Jennet. On her daughter's birth certificate, she just listed as Jennet Cousins. In fact, I can't find a marriage of a George Cousins and a Jennet an one! The marriage would have been probably in Liverpool, England around 1825. Their baby's birth certificate lists them as being in St Patricks Parish. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Does anyone have any links to the surname Gleisle? I know anyone with this surname with this spelling are related but, am having trouble making connection back to who can from where first. I have gotten as far back as my 3rd. Great Grandfather Julius Gleisle who was (from census records on his son George )born in ? 1820 in Baden, Germany. George Gleisle was born in Rochester, NY in 1856 and his father Julius died sometime between than and 1 74 when his widow Maryann(Dezender)Gleisle is first listed in the City Directories. I have no idea when or where Julius Gleisle died but older relatives say he may have been in the Civil War but have found no proof of it. I have found records of Gleisle's in Buffalo, NY, PA.,MD.,and Ohio and as I said I know were all related but I just don't know how. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a relative, listed as Charles March, born in Germany around 1849, married in 1871 or 72 in Monroe County, New York. He came to the US with two brothers, as I understand from family stories. The name was translated from German, apparently so as no to have mix-ups with the mail. I do not know the original form in German of the last name. Other brothers may have been George and Fred. Charles or Fred may have married Maud(e) Irish, who seems to have been Canadian. Another of the brothers seems to have married Mary Trumeter and lived in Penfield (Rochester, NY) area. The son of one of these was Fred H. March, born c. 1878. Fred married Ione C. Hilimire, who has ties to East Palmyra, NY. Ione (also spelled Iona in some records) died on Dec. 18, 1952 and was cremated in Long Island, then buried on top of Anson and Cel stia Cole Hilimire's grave. At first it was suggested that Celestia was her mother, but given that Celestia was born in 1828, it is more likely that she was the grandmother of Ione. Ione was married to Fred H. March, but they were divorced, and she moved to Long Island, where she remarried. Her death certificate lists her as Iona C. Noe. I am hoping to find where the 3 brothers were from in Alsatia and when they came to the US. I am assuming they came most directly to the New York State area, and perhaps to the Rochester area listed above.

The information I have is that they came from Craig county, Virginia into Raleigh county West Virginia. The f mily were farmers and bought a farm outside Crab Orchard, West Virginia.Francis is my grandfather. He married Martha Emaline Pendleton on 1-17-1901. Martha was born in Patrick county, Virginia in January 1881 or 1882. Her parents were Reed Pendleton and E izabeth Hylton. Francis Duncan and Martha Pendleton had several children, Shirley Preston Duncan,son(deceased), Berley Preston Duncan,son and Bertha Florence Duncan(Milton-Smith)(deceased)and Rufus Marion Duncan(deceased). After the death of Francis Dunca in 1910, Martha married Leonard Milton and had two more children. Gilbert Milton(deceased) and Marie Milton (Blackburn). I believe that my father Rufus Marion Duncan was born in Oakvale (don't know if that is Virginia or West Virginia) on June 22,1909.It is believed that Francis had a sister named Sally that lived near Princeton, West Virginia. Martha also had an uncle named Joe Pendleton that I remember visiting as a child. All I remember is that he raised frogs on a farm. If anyone has any information I would appreciate hearing from you. Ossip Giskin was my Father's Father. He was born in Odesa, Russia on April 7, 1899. His Mother was Rebecca Serduksuskaya. His Father was Gregory Giskin. My Father's parents apparently were not married, but we believe they came to the U.S. in the early 1920's, as my Father was born in LA in September, 1924. I'd also like to establish the relationship/connection between Mimi Debussy and Feodor Chaliapin, the great Russian opera singer. Again, we know it to be true, but his family insists they never heard anything about it. I am searching for marriage information for a Sabina Miley Bowman, Henry Miley and a David Miley in Washington Co., MD. I have found where the Mileys purchased land in the county in 1785. The last piece of property was sold in 1794. Sabina married Baltze Bowman and remained in Washington Co. Henry and David moved to Jefferson County, KY and appear on the 1797 tax rolls. I am looking for any records of my gg grandfather, Alexander Silverstein, who supposedly immigrated (1900 census) from, as it is wriiten in the census-Poland/Russia. He immigrated in 1883 and his wife,Esther, and oldest son,Samuel, followed 2 years later. I can find no naturalization papers on him although he said he was naturalized.
