In memoirs of my late father, discovered that our heritage dates back to France. My family fled France during the French Revolution. The memoirs are hand-written and this is what we think the name is. Some imigration official in Puerto Rico could not unde
stand the name so they changed it to Santiago and here I am. Any clues out there??

The family name now is Phillips but was changed at the time they entered the U.S. at Ellis Island during the late 1800's. Surviving members remember the name as Philiposky or something similar to that. Originally from the part of Poland that was under R
ssian Control at the time of their move. The area or district of Poland they came from was supposed to have been Suwalki. I would appareciate knowing if anyone has ever heard this name before and any inaformation associated with it. Especially the corr
ct spelling. Thank you, M. Barry.

My family originated, I believe, in Newtown Hunt/Jerpointchurch, Thomastown, Kilkenny, Ireland.
They came to Charleston, South Carolina, USA about 1830 where the oldest son, Patrick, served
as a well-beloved priest until 1865. This name is spelled O'NEAL, O'NEIL, O'NEILE, etc. Children
were: Patrick, Mary, Anastasia, Thomas, John, Walter, Margaret, Elizabeth, and Andrew; all born from 1810 - 1830. I descend, I believe, from Thomas who married Mary/Mollie READ, also from Thomastown. Their children were: James Joseph (b. 1845) and Mollie
Any connections or suggestions appreciated!

I am interested in any information you can give me on either name EDINGER; ETTL or SCHNAPPS. I do not have any idea where the Edinger name originated, or what the migration date or pattern was and anything or direction would be appreciated.
I do believe that ETTL and SCHNAPPS come from Bavaria and the migration date was 1887. Martin Ettl, my grandfather, was only seventeen when he left home and I do not think the family ever had contact again, or it was never spoken of. This could
ean that I have living relitives that I would like to contact.
Matilda Schnapps was my grandmother and she had a brother in Ebring, Bavaria. Again none of this is concrete information and I would like to know how to find out more..

Okay this is going to be long. I am looking for some relatives that might know my roots & may be off another branch since my great, great grandfather William E. McNelly (Portland Prairie,MN) had 3 wives 2 that died. The last one he married was Samantha
right(daughter of Charles Fredrick Wright & Mary Metcalf). William E. McNelly's parents were John McNelly(Downpatrick,Ireland in Down County) & Nancy Shumway daughter of Pamela Aldrich & Noah Shumway. They had children consisting of my great grandfather
hester Leroy McNelly. He then married & had children. On the Wright side it goes back to Lord John Wright who lived in Essex, England. If I am correct he had a son Nathaniel Wright. Some people on the ancestors of the Wrights are Samuel,Samuel,Elieger
he married Priscilla Fuller), Benoni(married Hannah Severance), Amasa(Mary Chamberlain), Abishia(?), Amasa Z.T.(Married Nancy Bobcock).
