Tagariello and Massaro

Immigration from the small town of Cassano delle Murge (Bari)in the Province of Apulia in the Country of Italia to the United States of America in the years 1900 to 1920.

Leonardo and Giuseppe,(2) two brothers from Cassano delle Murge,came to the United States on Mar 6,1907 on the Ship"Germania". Leonardo left in 1909 to go back to Italy to fight in Libya and in the first World War for his homeland.For this he received three Medals one of which was Gold. On May11,1920 Leonardo and his new wife Isabella (who was pregnant with their first child)and her sister Maria,who was to marry Giuseppe,came to Ellis Island on the ship Madonna.(They left from Naples,Italy on 24 April,1920 and arrived in New York harbor 11 May,1920.) After arriving in Ellis Island the (2)two sisters and Leonardo went to Berwick,Maine to meet Guiseppe who had been working there for the last (12) years. In 1921 Guiseppi and Maria were married in Berwick,Maine. In 1922 the brothers came to East Boston,where they bought a house and stayed until 1945. The (2)two brothers lived in close proximetry with each other and their families for (60)sixty years.

Between the (2) two families they have given to the United States (48) forty eight citizens(as of 1999)including (5)five who have served in the United States Military covering (4) four wars.

This family and its extentions have contributed: Engineers,Schoolteachers,Doctors,PHDs,Accountants,Military Officers and Goverment Employees to our Country.

This is a proud heritage for (2)two farmers from the South of Italy.

Leonardo e Giuseppe, due fratelli da Cassano delle Murge vennero ai Stati Uniti in 1908. Leonardo pati' in 1909 e ritorno'in Italia combattere nel Lybia e anche nella prima guerra mondiale per la patria.Lui riceve' tre medaglie, uno d'oro. Nel 1920 Leonardo e la sua moglie Isabella( chi era incinta con il primo figlio) e sua sorella Maria, fu sposare Giuseppe, vennera a Isola Ellis a Nuova York sulla nave Madonna.( Partironno da Napoli, Italia 24 Aprile 1920 e arrivarono in porto Nuovo York 11 Maggio 1920.) Dopo arrivarono in Isolo Ellis le due sorelle eLeonardo andarono a Berwick,Maine conobbero Giuseppe chi ebbe lavorato li per dodici anni. In 1921 Giuseppe e Maria ebbero sposati in Berwick ,Maine . Nel anno 1922 I due fratelli arrivarono a Boston Est, dove comprarono una casa e staranno li fine 1945.

I due fratelli abitarono vicino l'un l'altro per sessanta anni.

Fra le due famiglie avranno dato ai State Uniti 48 cittadini fine 1999 includendo cinque chi hanno servito in militare degli Stati Uniti coperatura quattro guerre.

Questa famiglia e sue extensione hanno contribuito Ingegnere, Insegnante, Medico, Professore, Contabile, Comandare Militare, Impiegato per il Governo di nostra Patria. Questa e' una orgoglioso eredita' per due agricolturi da Italia sud.
