Hi Elaina, It was nice to read your story. Kyle's seizures were not quite as severe as yours, so we never tried him on the diet. I have not researched it much, but I would like to. Kyle still doesn't have a clear EEG, but he doesn't seem to have any noticeable seizu e activity. He does have times when he seems to be in a "trance" like state where he doesn't want to be touched, or bothered. He is quite delayed in several areas, and I wonder if the diet now would change things now or not. Please feel free to e-mail us nd tell us what you think. Again, great web page. I have a 7 month boy who was diagnosed with cryptogenic IS 4 1/2 months ago. We have tried ACTH, phenobarbitol, depekene, vitamin B6, and vigabatrin (the last three being his current meds.) nothing is working. His doctor has suggested brain surgery. I contacted you over a year ago when I read about you in the news letter. We have a daughter, Karly, 22 months. Started the diet at 6 months. Sad to say we don't have the story to tell like yours. Karly still has seizures. About 4-8 a week (tonic-clonic)a d 0-6 myoclonic aday.She is alot better than before the diet but how I wish for total control, and to see her walk and talk. Karly still doesn't sit by herself but, is getting stronger. I guess we just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings. Janice, How time flies! I've just been spending a few minutes on the alumni pages and fell upon your home page. And like I said How time flies by! If you remember my three - Simon and Brian are both living in Sydney and Simon and his companion Baerbel ill shortly make me a grand father (in June). Nicola was married in September last year to a Genevois and is living in Geneva. As you can see I am still here and still teaching chemistry.
