the power of love

Hi! I'm Jayden. I was a preemie born December 11, 1997 at 29 weeks gestation. I weighed 2 lbs, 13 oz at my smallest. I'm now a busy 5 year old boy, boisterous and loud and learning about everything! I especially like construction equipment and can tell you about all the jobs and the machines at a construction site.

I have a guardian angel. You can read about her; her name is Kayla. To see some pictures of me, go to my photo album. My Mommy promises to update soon! You can also read my Mommy's pregnancy journal, starting from before I was born. Uncle Danny and Auntie Mala have a website too! Visit my Preemie Pals! Meet our dragon! Thanks for stopping by!

There are lots of games I like to play now, and most of them involve yelling certain phrases at the top of my lungs. One is "I'm stuck", where I lean backwards over Mommy's bed and yell "I'm shuck, I'm shuck!" until Mommy either pulls me up onto the bed or tickles me so that I fall down. Another game is "I see you", which is usually played behind the curtain in Mommy's room, or behind my bedroom door. I go behind the curtain or the door and wait until Mommy comes near, and then I yell "IIIIIIIIIIIIIII seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee yoooooouuuuuuuuuuuuu!". I like to yell that over and over. But I think my Mommy's favorite game is "knock knock who is it". I like to close the door to the room Mommy's in and knock on it, and say "knock knock who is it" a bunch of times. For some reason Mommy always laughs really hard when I do that.

Guess what else? I can count to 12!

I have lots of things to say, and I say them all the time. I use complete sentences a lot, but I also drive my mommy crazy and whine when I want something.

I like the colors yow (yellow), geen (green), and puppo (purple). Mommy keeps talking about red and blue, too, but I'm not interested in those colors, so I don't say their names. Yellow is the coolest, because koo bus (school buses) are yellow. My mommy's favorite color is purple, and there are lots of purple things around here. Green is a good color, and one particular shade reminds me of apple juice. My mommy doesn't know why. She just thinks it's cute that when I see something that color, I say "appo duce!".

Today I was playing this game with my mommy, we were swinging our arms and saying "left! right! left! right!". Mommy's really happy 'cause when I messed up I remembered which side was which and fixed my swinging. "left! right!" It's a fun game. I made my mommy play it for a long time.
