We lived in upstate Ny and were moving to Colorado. The actual time of the

move was pending on the birth of our son. He was due on April 2, 1998, so I

arranged for the packers and mover to come on 4-13-98. My dh was on leave

the 3 weeks prior to my due date so the weeks following we took the

miswife's advise and we tried many home remedeys . Nothing seemed to be

working. I worked right up until the end so I was pretty active through the

pregnancy , I'd had Braxton Hicks from the time I was 4 month. During the

last week all the contraction stopped. I just knew I was ging to have this

baby late. On 4-4-98 which is my dh & mother's birthday we went to a boat

show and spent the whole day walking, climbing in and out of boats, not one

contraction the whole day. That evening my dh went to the store and I

asked him to get a bottle of castro oil and he did. I took the whole

bottle of castro oil mixed with a tall glass of O.J. (YUK,YUK,YUK). My girl

friend came over and we sat there until 11:30 p.m. waiting on some sign of

labor and nothing. My dh was convinced it was going to happen though so he

proceeded in putting my things in the car. I of course told him he was

crazy that nothing was going to happen and if it did we had plenty of time.

I told my girl friend to go home that I was going to bed. At 11:43 I had a

contraction and another 2 minutes later. They came every 2 minutes from

that point on. We timed them for a while and then decided it was time to

go. I tried to at least iron my shirt before we left but then my water

broke and my dh demanded we leave for the hospital. We arrived at the

hospital at 1:05 a.m. and Corey Ryan was born at 1:31 a.m. I'm very glad

he wouldn't let me stay to iron and I'm even more glad the hospital was

only 15 minutes away. I had a 10 hour labor with my first and 2 with Corey

needless to say I've been warned I'd better be sure to live closer and

leave sooner if I have any more. Corey was 7 lb. 11 oz. & 21 in. long. No

medication and no tearing.

Did this turn out way long? Sorry!!!
