We love hiking and our favorite spot is Mt. Washingtion New Hampshire's White Mountains. On our last travels there, we finally made it to the top!! Glancing around at all the tourists who drove up, we certainly did feel glad that we hiked up.
Our Route To The Summit | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
So far we have only used Lion's Head Trail to reach the summit. Lion's Head is very challenging and steep at times but a quick route to the top. On our last trip we were going to hike Tuckerman's Ravine trail but due to snow and ice in July we had to use Lions Head trail.
Our Destination | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
We started at Pinkham Notch at 6:00am on a brisk summer morning in July. Starting up the rugged trail we could see the day becoming sunny and bright, making for a positive climb. We mad it to the top in about 5 hours and soaked in the incredible view. After lunch we headed back down Lion's Head. Going down was much easier but still a lot of work, hopping from one large rock to another the whole way down. We made it back down in 4 hours and could finally rest our tired feet.
