I am a Civil Servant belonging to Indian Administrative Service (I.A.S.) 1982 batch. I did my graduation (B.Tech - Electrical Engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 1981 with a Gold medal for being the best all-rounder and joined the Civil Services in 1982. Since then I have served Government of U.P. in various capacities e.g. District Collector, Divisional Commissioner and Secretary to the Government (as many as 18 postings in 17 years of service!!). I recently did M.Sc. (Economics) in Social Development Planning and Management from University of Wales, Swansea U.K. and am presently working as Excise Commissioner U.P.
I am happily married with a beautiful wife, Sadhna and two lovely daughters, Swati and Saumya.
