This is the story of my g.g.g.grandmother's missing birth records book. She, Joanner Orman, was a midwife in the Ormanville, Iowa area. The book contains birth records from that area from 1881 - 1887.

THE "SECRET"
After the death of Anzie Orman Christy, Ruth Christy invited Darrell over to go through her personal belongings. It was at this time that "the book" was found after being hidden away for about fifty years. Anzie had gotten it from someone and kept it hidden for those many years because it contained the birth record of her Aunt Christina McCall, age 15, having a baby. Anzie was so embarrassed that no father was listed, no one saw the book including all the other births recorded in the book until it was found and copied by Darrell. Darrell has been kind enough to share those copies with me. If anyone needs a copy of a birth attended by my g.g.g.grandmother, Joanner Orman, please let me know.
