Welcome to my home page, Tiaden Home Page. I'm just your average AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMAN, trying to find ways to learn things and pass them on to others who might want to read about them. Books are my passion. I even started my own reading club (see below). But, I also like to cook, so I am always trying create new recipes to feed those grown kids of mine when they visit me on weekends. They are so full of energy, its hard to find something that satisfies them.
SWER READING GROUP INFORMATION SWER--(Sistah's Who Enjoy Reading)-- is a reading group started by me, in 1998. I envisioned a group of ladies sitting around discussing books that they had read, and those books that had really changed their lives. This would be a way to unwind after working all day long. It all began when my friend, Marilyn, and I were taking our morning 3-mile walk. We got to talking about this book we had both read, then it hit me why not start a club.
Our membership has grown from two people to twenty individuals. If you wish to become a member or if you want to buy any of the books that the group has read just e-mail me at Tiaden2@yahoo.com and let me know.

MY HOMETOWN It is located in northeast Louisiana. A little small town with the population of about 5,000 people. It has gotten a lot of bad publicity in the past, but I think it is the road to recovery since we are under new town leardership. I think it will be a booming town just like it was in the 60's. You just wait and see.

LOCAL HISTORY ABOUT MY TOWN According to folklore, pirates were plentiful here in the 1700's. Because of the navigation difficulty, river boats would have to come to shore at a bend in the river and were easy prey for the pirates. Their leader, Bunch, called it an "ACT OF PROVIDENCE", if traders escaped their trap. That area is still referred to as Bunches Bend today. And that folks is where I was born--at Bunches Bend.
