LONDON - at various times
Katherine and I have visited London many times. Unfortunately many of our photos of that great city are still in slide form. One of these days, we may just convert them. In any case, enjoy what we present such as views of the National Gallery of Art, Trafalgar Square, The Strand, Twinings (for a great cupper), the Theater District. Covent Garden, Knightsbridge, etc.
1994 - (Below) -Although I stayed often at the Hotel Cavendish, I don't recall ever meeting any of the inhabitants of St. James Palace down the street. On the other hand, knowing how I feel about the uselessness of monarchs, I doubt that the royals would want to meet me. Kathy and I did visit the Fortnum and Mason Store in the next block.
Most people, when they think of London, generally think of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, the Theater, the Tower, Hyde Park,  Picadilly, etc.. The fact is that London is all that - and a lot more. Anne Buzzotta, a St. Louisan, for example, went to London to participate in her father's business. While there, she met Peter Pattenden, whom she eventually married and with whom she settled amidst the beauty of Sussex. Their home is approximately one hour outside the big city amidst the peacefulness of the loveliest countryside one can expect to see anywhere, as shown in the five phtos above in which Kathy, Peter, Anne, and I can also be seen.

In many ways, London is somewhat like the Hong Kong that I once knew. For, as Hong Kong was famous for its bargains, leaving one broke from all they represented, London has a theater district that, although reasonably priced, does the same that Hong Kong did for the tourist I once was. Kathy and I normally spend more on the theater while in London than we do anywhere else. Because Kathy is a high energy person and therefore able to sustain most time changes involved in modern travel, I, unfortunately, have often fallen asleep during the performances as if I did not enjoy them. That's what happened when we saw LES MISERABLES, a performance everyone praised and which I mostly missed. Fortunately we both did get to see Miss Saigon in its totality. I even managed to stay awake long enough that day to have had a fine dinner at one of the many restaurants of Covent Garden. CLICK
