People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PeTA) SUPPORTS the banning/euthanasia of Pit Bulls!! Says PeTA's Ingrid Newkirk, "...People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals,the very people who are trying to get you to denounce the killing of chickens for the table, foxes for fur, or frogs for dissection, supports the [automatic destruction of Pit Bulls by shelters]..." and then she goes on to say, "...We can only stop killing pits if we stop creating new ones..."

Also, the Humane Society of the United States has anti-Pit Bull propaganda on their website, including damaging Pit Bull myths.
