Death of Mr. Robt. H.Allen
Mr. Robert H.Allen, familiarly called “Uncle Bob” died at the home of his son, Mr.Josiah Allen in Williamson last Friday after a lingering illness. He was eighty seven years of age and had been in declining health for a number of years, having lost his eyesight entirely a year ago or so. His wife preceded him to the grave about six years ago.

The deceased came to this county with his father in 1826, two years old, who settled on the W.B.Ballard old place. He was well and favorably known over the county and this section and always took an active interest in all public matters. He was of a genial disposition and loved the company of his friends. He leaves four sons, all well known citizens, namely: Messrs Josiah, Lewis, and John Allen of Williamson, and Calton Allen of Bainbridge.

Funeral services were held at Red Oak church of which he was a member at Williamson and conducted by his pastor, Rev. J.B.Allen, on Saturday morning after which he was buried in the church cemetery.
