Welcome family and friends! In January, 1998 our family was blessed with the birth of our first child, Ruben Suarez Jr., "R.J." Tragically our beautiful son was recently diagnosed with a terminal illness called Tay-Sachs Disease (TSD). Tay-Sachs is a rare genetic disorder that results in a deterioration of the central nervous system. Currently there is no known cure for the disease and doctors have told us the R.J. will only live a few more years. Our family is devastated at the prospect of watching our beloved child deteriorate before our eyes.
We are trying to remain positive. We recently received information on a nutritional supplement case study that was effective in slowing the deterioration process in a Japanese boy with TSD. We have begun this treatment for R.J. and are hopeful that he will respond positively. Miracles happen everyday and we are praying for one now.
