The
pictures taken above were from our trip to South Lake Tahoe coming back
from our favorite waterfall. This is the second year that the waterfall
road was snowed under. This year we decided to try and reach the
waterfall via 4 wheel drive. It's also my 1st time at 4 wheeling
it through anything. The snow was about 12" deep (soft) and once
in, I thought we were going to be stuck! As it turns out, the only
reason we weren't moving was because I didn't give it enough gas to power
through the snow. The HERCULES ALTRAC M/S tires were really great
in getting us moving. There's a lot to be said for 4 wheel drive
inexperience and trying to plow uphill through 12" of snow.
On another note, I guess in a lot of ways, our daily walk with God is like that as well. We often get mired in things, spin our wheels, and don't get anywhere. All it takes is a little more effort to get us past those ruts in the road of life to keep us moving in the direction that God wants us to go. Nope, being a christian doesn't guarantee a smooth road. Often the road is has a lot of rough spots. They're what the Apostle Paul calls them as character building trials. If life was smooth and uneventful, our character would be pretty superficial. |
