Well first let me introduce myself. My name is Rose, I was born July 1974 and live in Newfoundland which is located on the Eastern Coast of Canada. I moved from a small town which has a population over 7,000 where I was born and raised. I have two wonderful people who are the love of my life forever and ever Tim and our little angel Alexandra she will be two years old May 19th /2006. I have two younger sister's and one younger brother.
My hobby's are : going on outdoor adventures, walking with my dog, swimming, surfing this so called cyber world, going out to parties, camping, and anything else I can get my hands on when I get away from my work place.
Well enough about me now I will tell you a little about this island called Newfoundland.
Newfoundland is the tenth largest island in the Seven Seas, it has an area of 157,000 square miles, 10,900 miles of coastline and over 1,000 communities. There are 10,000 kilometers of highways including the 900 kilometer long Trans-Canada highway. This island is well known to visitors for it's sandy beaches, rugged cliffs, rocky foreshores, forests and lakes, viking trails, golfing, ski resorts such as Marble Mountain and White Hills, and most of all the historic sites of L'Anse aux Meadows, Port au Choix, Strait of Belle Isle, Signal Hill etc.. especially the eye beauty of this island. The Capital City of this Province is the City of St. Johns which has approximately the population of 105,000 and 172,000 in the greater St. Johns area. This city has a street called Water Street known as the oldest street in North America, at its east end the National War Memorial, which was unveiled on July 1, 1924 as a memorial to those who gave their lives in the war. Opposite the War Memorial on Water Street is Harbor side Park which was designed in 1983 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the beginning of the British Empire. Newfoundland is also the very first Province to ring in and celebrate the New Year (Jan1st.) out of all North America because of its time difference.
Newfoundland has two National Parks, Gros Morne National park (The world heritage site) and Terra Nova National Park. We also have a lot of provincial parks with over 2,057 campsites with lot's of viking trails.
