RIPPLE AFGHANThe Ripple Afghan seems to take forever to make, but is well worth your time and effort. It is a good winter project. It can help keep you warm as you work on it. Colors are a matter of choice on this one. You can use just about as many as you want. I have used 12 colors on this mine. Look at the border of the page for an example. SIZE= 50" x 72" With Color A, ch 260 loosely. Row 1: Sc in 3rd ch from hook, sc in each st of next 5 ch (sc, ch 2 sc) in next ch, sc in each of next six ch, * sk next 2 ch, sc in each of next 6 ch (sc ch 2 sc) in next ch, sc in each of next 6 ch, repeat from* across, end last repeat sc in each of next 5 ch, sk next ch, sc in next ch. You should have 17 points. Ch 1, turn. Row 2: Sc in first sc, sk next sc, sc in back loop of each of next 5 sc, sc in next ch, ch 2, sc in next ch, sc in back loop of each of next 6 sc, *sk next 2 sc, sc in back loop of 6 sc, sc in next ch, ch 2, sc in next ch, sc in back loop of each of next 8 sc, repeat from* across end last repeat sc in back loop of each of next 5 sc, sk 1 sc, sc in last sc, Ch 1, turn. Rows 3 and 4: Repeat row 2. At end of row 4, finish last sc with Color B, ch 1, turn. You can cut Color A and leave about a 1 ½ inch piece. Row 5: Working over ends of Color A and Color B, repeat row 2. Row 6: Repeat Row 2, changing to Color C in last sc, ch 1, turn Repeating row 2 for pattern, and changing colors as before, work 2 rows of each color through Color L. Repeat these 26 rows until you have reached the approximate length you desire. Be sure and end with 4 rows of Color A. PLEASE NOTE: BE SURE AND WORK A SWATCH FOR GAUGE PURPOSES. I found that I had to use a Size H hook to get the correct gauge.
