| Dedicated to three brothers: Francis Marion, Simeon, and Jasper Gilbert and to the many cousins I have met along my quest |
| My Gilbert line begins in the Anderson and Pickens County areas of South Carolina in the early 1800's. By 1848, they were in the Lumpkin and Habersham Counties of Georgia and remained there until the later 1800's. Around 1900, my family began to spread out with some remaining in Georgia and others returning back to the upstate of South Carolina. |
