You are a young athlete of the DatuDatu tribe, a tribe of warrior people who are the main inhabitants of you’re home world. The world your people inhabit is mostly desert like terrain but there are two oceans and two huge forests at equal intervals along the equator. It is also very mountainous along the Prime Meridian of you’re planet.
A problem has come up and aroused the attention of The Elders, a group of priest like people who have supposedly been endowed with special powers from the spirits of your world, you are seen as the solution to this problem and have been chosen to solve it if you refuse you will insult The Elders and will automatically be sentenced to death. As you have recently found out via you’re good friend BonBon the reason you have been chosen is because you’re . . . expendable as The Elders said.
Later you find out from The Elders that you must solve the problem of the food shortage that is accruing throughout the villages of your people. Many great ambassadors have tried to ask for enough food for your people to survive for the up coming dry season, which will occur in approximately six months, from neighboring tribes but all that has come back of them has been their heads on stakes. The reason that The Elders are asking these people to spare some food for your tribe, beside the fact that they’re greedy and they’re trying to keep your people happy by not making them do any work, is that they’re tribe has spread out close to one of the forests near the Equator and usually more than enough of a surplus for that tribe to be fed and to be able to trade food for other commodities and that only takes about half of they’re supplies.
There are five elders of the DatuDatu tribe’s group know to them as The Elders. Not much is known about these strange characters but we do know that each one represents the physical being of a spirit that the DatuDatu tribe worships. They also have all of those spirits abilities, although they are weaker then that actual spirits abilities, except for that spirits ability of immortality. Although no one seems to know any of the spirit’s names or exact abilities but there seems to be enough evidence and eyewitness accounts to support the theory that The Elders do possess unearthly powers.
