David De Silva
This page is dedicated to my brother,
David De Silva. David was a son, grandson, nephew, brother,
cousin, uncle, and friend to many. All who miss him dearly. David
passed away on May 21, 1999, at the age of 31, due to diabetes.
David also served in the United States Air Force for 4 years. He
was an amazing person who had many struggles in his life, but in
meeting him, you would never know his pain or struggles. David
was a strong, positive, and compassionate soul, who was sent from
heaven to bless our lives with his presence.
He was an amazing big brother to me. My
most vivid memories of him are from my childhood. David was 8
years older than me, however, that did not keep him from
including me in everything he and his friends did. I remember
David and his friend, Mike, used to "put" on puppet
shows for my friends and I. Another memory I treasure is that he
even spent his precious coins, that were a gift from our
grandmother, to buy me candy. He also would build go-carts with
the help of his friends and he always let me ride them. I was his
little "tag-a-long", but David never seemed to mind.
Now, I feel so fortunate for that.
Unfortunately, I did not get the chance
to grow up with David in his teenage years and beyond. However,
not a day passed that I did not think about my big brother. Now,
for the rest of my life, not a second will pass where I'm not
thinking about him.
He will be missed by so many people,
who's lives he not only touched, but moved. We love you David!!
More than you will ever know!
