Lance Corporal Matthew Moyta | |||||||||||||||||||
Our oldest son Matt, is currently serving at Al Asad Airbase in Iraq. We've set up this site as a way for his family, friends and neighbors to keep in touch with him while he's away serving our country. Just like any service member far from home, he loves getting mail from back here. His address there is just below his photo. Being in a Muslim country, you can send him just about anything there except alcohol, pork or anything which might be considered pornographic. Perhaps the easiest way to send Matt a message is via MotoMail. This is a free, private and secure service which lets you send a letter via the Internet, which is then printed and delivered, usually within 24 hours. You'll just need to set up an account for yourself, add him to your address book, then you're good to go! Please keep him and all our troops in your prayers. Thank you, Janet & Jim Moyta |

Matt's cousin Denice and her husbad Allen live very near his permanent duty station, Camp Lejeune. This gave them the great opportunity to spend time together in the months between his training and his deployment. Denice and Allen put together a wonderful slideshow of photos they took as Matt and his buddies were preparing to leave. Please read the message below and then check out the slideshow at: Off to Iraq. 2/9/2007 Subject: I would like to start a prayer chain For all of you who don't know, yesterday I did something that was so very hard. My little cuz Matt went off to fight in Iraq. I remember the sweet little boy who would not sit still and was always getting in trouble. I think I heard all three of his names used more than just the one, as he was growing up. He was like my little brother and I am so blessed that God got the Marine Corps to station him here at Camp Lejeune. We have been able to build upon the love we knew as a family during childhood by spending time together now as adults. I am proud to say that he is still the little boy I remember, but also a wonderful man now. At Christmas he got engaged and now went off to war. I am proud and very worried for him. Attached is a photo show from the day they left. I am asking, can we all take just a moment to say a prayer for all these who just left to serve and all those over in harms way already? You know when you see the stories on the news, it is easy to unattach yourself from their stories. I ask you to look closely at these photos, these are all real lives being affected. There is a couple; Steve and Maritza Garcia, he is one of Matt's good friends. They are a wonderful loving couple, and Steve is not going to be home for their 1yr anniversary or her 21st birthday. None of the couples are going to be together this valentine's day. So, as you celebrate with your loved ones, please say a prayer for all those who are willing to miss these days to protect us & their loved ones left stateside. Please pass this on. Thanks & Love, Denice |
