Welcome To
Tom and Mary's Photo Album!

These are pictures taken on our wedding day, January 14, 1956, in Saint Louis, Missouri at Holy Family Catholic Church.

Tying the Knot!

There they go!

Let's make a wish.

Tom grew up in Brooklyn, New York. Tom went with his dad to register for the draft in 1940. He was only five years old. Later, in 1953, he did join the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. It was while stationed at Scott AFB, IL, that he met Mary in 1954. We have been married for 45 years. We traveled in many of the states and lived in Turkey for three years. Tom worked as an engineer at McDonnell Douglas, Emerson Electric, Datapoint, and SSAI. He retired in 1996. He loves to play golf and to sing--he is a member of the San Antonio Barbershop Chorus, the Chordsmen.

Mary grew up in Saint Louis, Missouri. Mary and Tom met on a blind date; we were introduced by a friend, Ian Mowry. We have three children: Stefanie, Regina, and Beth. We have nine grandchildren: Stefanie's children: James, Milia, and Karla; Regina's children: Elena and Nicholas; and Beth's children: Mary, Tess, Rose, and Regina. Mary found a career in teaching in both Missouri and Texas. Later, she became a principal at Northwest Crossing and then Leon Springs Elementary in the Northside Independent School District, San Antonio, Texas. She retired after 31 years working in the field of education at the end of June, 1998.

Stefanie and Regina were born in Beirut, Lebanon. They became U.S. citizens in 1964 when they were 5 and 4 years old respectively. This was always a favorite picture of ours and we were so proud that the St. Louis Post Dispatch newspaper ran it on two different occasions, once for the citizenship ceremony on May 1, 1964, and then again when Judge Roy Harper retired about 11 years after that.

We have always had dogs, and Bob and Maggie are our dog children. They love everyone and protect us with gusto! Bob and Maggie are avid travelers and love the RV.

We have lived in San Antonio, Texas since August 1978. Most people think it is only hot and muggy down here but this picture is proof that San Antonio does have an occasional snow, too!

Yes, it snows in San Antonio!

We always enjoyed travel and our ultimate plan was to retire and travel extensively. We purchased a truck and a fifth wheel to do just that in 1998. The day after Mary retired, our RV took us to New Mexico, Illinois, and many places in Texas. In the spring of 1999, we began a three and a half month journey totalling 12,500 miles to the Pacific Northwest. Shortly after getting back, we took off again and spent a short vacation in Illinois to visit with my brother and sister-in-law. In the summer of 2000, we spent two months in Europe visiting with Beth and her family in Germany. Besides Germany, we visited in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Bosnia-Herzegovina. We spent five weeks touring IL, MO, TN, and MS in Fall, 2000.

It was a sad day, indeed, when three of our youngest grandchildren and their parents went to Germany. We miss them so much!

Goodbye, grandma and grandpa

Like the picture says, "the beat goes on."
