Stephanie's Page

Our little angel Stephanie Bridget was born sixteen weeks early on September 7, 1998, at 7:02 AM.
She was a tiny, delicate little thing, weighing only 13 ounces. She was rushed to the NICU and
placed on a hi-fi ventilator in the hope that her lungs might be developed enough for her to survive.

But it was not to be. In addition to rapid deterioration in her lungs,
she also had severe bleeding in her brain. At about 4:00 that afternoon,
we made the most difficult decision of our lives and took her off life support.

For about an hour we got to hold her and kiss her, and tell her how much
we loved her. At 5:00 she died in her mother's arms, having lived only ten hours.

Though her time on earth was very short, her memory will live with us forever.
