Anna Canarsky, was born February 19, 1894 to Charlie Canarsky and Maria Menke. She spent her childhood days on a farm in Cumings County, Nebraska by the little town of Bancroft. She eventually moved to Omaha, Nebraska where she worked as a Domesticate at the Clarkson Hospital. Anna married Arthur Ray Hangley in 1917 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. After Anna, married Arthur, he left for WW1. Anna took Richard her son from a prior marriage and moved to Denver, Colorado where she lived with her sister Emma across the street from Eliches Gardens. A popular amusement park, that has since been rebuilt in a new location in Denver. After Arthur returned from the service he followed Anna to Denver where they became the parents of three children together. Robert Ray, Mildred Irene and Merle William. Arthur and Anna relocated back to Omaha, Nebraska where Arthur built a small Cobblestone house on the Northeast side of Omaha. Six more children were born. May Louella, Thomas Charles, a set of twins that died at birth and my mother . Anna, was taken ill after my mother was born and spent alot of my mother's first years away from her in the hospital. When my mother was 14 months old, Anna died from complications of an illness. Arthur, was left alone, to raise seven children alone. Arthur never married an lived to be I beleive 92 years old.. |
