We are both born Texans. We have a farm out in the Hill Country that we tried to retire to 4 years ago. But, we really missed Austin, so we bought a condo last year and now split our time between the two places. I was a Distribution Manager for Tokyo Electron; I took a medical retirement at 54. I play cards with 3 clubs each month, I like to scrapbook, read, sew, swim and shop. Carey taught business management at ACC and he was trainer for the Post Office. He is a genealogist, history buff, interested in languages and is now writing his first book. We have 5 children and 9 grandchildren between us. We love to travel and like to go somewhere every month or so. This will be our 15th cruise and I am just as excited about it as I was for our first. We will be celebrating our 25 anniversary, so it will be extra special. It will be great to get to meet you all in person. |

CABIN: 8019 SEATING: LATE
We live in Chatham ON, 50 miles from Detroit. My log on name at Cruise Critic is C2C, short for From Sea to Sea, the motto on the Canadian Coat of Arms. For several years now we are true cruisenuts and have been spending over 100 days a year sailing Celebrity ships. We picked this cruise because it is a Captain's Club reunion cruise; Celebrity adds a few nice touches for members who have cruised before. This will be our 60th Celebrity "sailing". We have also cruised with HAL, Princess, RCL and NCL for a total exceeding 700 days at sea including X.
After 33 years in the classroom, I took early retirement 8 years ago and enjoy travel, reading, trivia and playing "Civilization" on the computer.Joanne operates an independent video store which has been open since 1985. Joanne is an avid reader, especially of Fantasy and Murder Mysteries which she normally finishes at the rate of a book a day.
We will be found daily dancing before and after dinner and at every dance class offered. We seldom miss trivia on board and enjoy the activities provided by Celebrity staff.

CABIN: 7052 SEATING: EARLY
Hi,
It's been a livelong dream to go to Hawaii and finally I'm GOING! I can't wait! When my friends Nada and Nancy told me they were going it was perfect time to go along. A friend, Carolyn Freitag agreed to bunk with me in stateroom # 7052 on Vista Deck. We are counting the days.I just recently lost my job as Senior Buyer, my company is moving to Italy and closing the Austin plant, so what better time to go to Hawaii I said! If I find a job before we go they'll just have to understand, I'm going!
I found a house-sitter for my 2 dogs, Daisy, a Miniature Schnauzer and Killer, a cross between a Chihuahua and a Terrier so I am all set.
I have only been on a couple of cruises, both to the Caribbean. I enjoyed them both a lot.
When I'm not cruising I enjoy going to the movies, getting together with friends for dinner out, gardening (love flowers), dancing (learning Ballroom), swimming (or should I say playing in the water), and always have a book to read.
Can't wait to meet everyone!!! |

CABIN: 7178 SEATING: LATE
We met while working at Southwestern Bell Telephone about 28 years ago. Discovered cruising in 1987 during a trip to Alaska on Regency's Regent Sea; had an inside cabin because we didn't know any better. It was a fun and rough experience - we awoke one night after our head's hit the wall during heavy seas! Many sick folk on board. But we were hooked. We have taken 18 cruises to date.
We took early retirement in 1991 and moved to Durango, CO. Donna said she was too young to play, so she went to work in a bank. After seven years of that (supervising 25 women with PMS!), she agreed to sell it all and go full time RVing. We've lived in RVs for almost seven years, and have just recently decided to pick a "home". Arizona won as the best place. The winters are great and the weather is usually accommodating. We make our home in Gold Canyon - at the base of the Superstition Mountains. During the Summer we travel in our 22' Pleasure Way Sprinter Van conversion to workamp. Donna's winter job is Assistant Activities Director at Gold Canyon RV & Golf Resort - our home. Steve spends his time helping guests with their personal confuser problems.
We are looking forward to this particular cruise and hope that many of the negative reviews on the web about the Summit ARE JUST NOT TRUE! We'll be more than happy to trade cruise stories with you all. |
